Fine Art: The Bedroom at Arles, c.1887

I've been looking for this one but I thought ah I'll find it soon but it's actually been a while :-). Just looking at the bed makes me feel sleepy, yawn. I like the room, looks very cozy. I have a talent of making spaces cozy. It's making it always hard to leave like now.

Fine Art: Olive Trees, c.1889

I haven't seen this one before. Can you feel how the sun is sharing its heat? It has reached me :-). Nice because I'm really freezing. Great paintings of great artists share a lot. It can even become your short reality. Oh how I miss going to a museum. Love to visit one soon!

Fine Art: Vase with Oleanders and Books, c.1888

There are lots of things I want to do and one is to explore more the outdoors. I actually love to be outside so long that it's warm. Doesn't matter how warm it would get. I'm excited that there's gonna be like that in the future. I can't wait even to see more colors, more shapes, more flowers, more life! A vase of fresh flowers is a vase of a beautiful life.

Fine Art: Landscape in St. Remy, c.1898

...plus a van Gogh bonus :-). Looks like a very nice day too in St. Remy. Just pumping up my adrenalin, still got some cleaning to do and I'd say hello to the outside world. I badly need some vitamin D. We ain't have some landscapes here but cityscape yes. Let's see how far I can go today.

Fine Art: Two Cut Sunflowers, c.1887

My sofa is looking like this... this blue with sunflowers on it, hehe. I obviously like this color combo because my wedding bouquet was in yellow and blue too :-). Very van Gogh, huh!

Fine Art: The Bridge at Asnieres

The color is like sunset. I have mixed emotions when it comes to sunset color. It triggers different memories especially the ones when I was little and sometimes it would just make me sad. But of course there are also connections to happy times. But generally it's like... I don't know if I'm gonna be sad or happy.

Fine Art: Road with Cypresses, c.1890

Oh beautiful! Haven't seen this yet. Look at those strokes, they create the feeling of movement. Simpy gorgeous! And of course I love sun as always. The moon is a bonus. And the cypress is towering, wow they can grow as tall as that. Got dwarf cypress at my balcony, very cute.

Fine Art: Landscape with Olive Trees

Olive trees are very exotic for me. I love the color of the leaves (that would be olive green :-) ). I wish we have a bigger apartment so I can get one for decor. They're not so big actually (the decorative ones) but I think they're too big for our flat. If you wanna see lots of olive trees, valleys of them, you got to visit Greece. Such a lovely place!

Fine Art: Starry Night over the Rhone, c.1888

I love starry nights and I also love lights reflecting on the water. I used to ride a boat before, it would leave the port during the night. I would stay usually at the deck looking at the disappearing port with some lights reflecting on the water just like the picture below, very nostalgic. Wow, it's hard to realize that I'm so far ahead from that moment of my life. Miss the days really!

Fine Art: Midday Rest (after Millet), c.1890

I would do siesta when I'm really tired otherwise I'd be having problems sleeping during the night. My hubby took a nap today after lunch. Slept on the sofa with all the Christmas decoration around him, cute. If one is really tired, it doesn't matter anymore where you would sleep. You see the two harvesters?

Fine Art: Sunflowers, c.1888

Details of van Gogh's famous Sunflowers which I posted some weeks ago. Isn't it gorgeous? Love the dense strokes! And there's so much sun in the flower :-)! Makes my day lovely though it's quite stormy here. Hope it'll make yours too!

Fine Art: Harvest at Arles, c.1888

I'm sooo loving van Gogh right now, the colors are just great! Can't wait to be back in Amsterdam, I'd check his work again . Sure I had missed a lot last time. The landscape below reminds me of my hubby's hometown in the north, it looks pretty much like this one :-)

Fine Art: Houses at Auvers, c.1890

Every small town reminds me of my hometown and this is one of them. You can just walk from house to another house saying hello to the people living there without making prior appointments. I miss the closeness, I miss the relax neighborhood, I miss the narrow and less busy roads, I'm homesick, whahhh!

Fine Art: Poppies, c.1886

Wow! This is another gorgeous work of van Gogh. Beautiful combination of strong colors. Wanted to get some inspirations from colors especially today that the sky is grey which is making other things outside look dull. Have to be prepared for my design tonight and that's gonna be playing with, well guess what, more colors!

Fine Art: Sunflowers, c.1888

I was happy to see the original painting at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and that was six years ago, quite a long time already. Well, to remind me of that, I bought a souvenir magnet with the sunflowers on it. It's in the kitchen not just on the fridge door because it's wooden but sticking on my "to dos" board with some other souvenir magnets I so far collected :-).

Fine Art: Peach Tree in Bloom at Arles, c.1888

Guess what movie! Love this one so much, can't wait for the dvd!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shifu: Illusion?
Oogway: Yes.
[points at peach tree]
Oogway: Look at this tree, Shifu: I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time.
Shifu: But there are things we *can* control: I can control when the fruit will fall, I can control where to plant the seed: that is no illusion, Master!
Oogway: Ah, yes. But no matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.
Shifu: But a peach cannot defeat Tai Lung!
Oogway: Maybe it can, if you are willing to guide, to nurture it, to believe in it.
Shifu: But how? How? I need your help, master.
Oogway: No, you just need to believe. Promise me, Shifu, promise me you will believe.

Fine Art: The Café Terrace on the Place du Forum, Arles, at Night

Purple is definitely the color of this year. You see it in a lot of trends; clothing, accessories, footwear, makeup... and so on. There's something in purple that I like, I don't know exactly how to describe it but I guess it's like this... I love blue and purple is like the romantic side of blue. Not that I am romantic :-), I think I just love romantic colors.

Fine Art: Starry Night

Ahh, stars! I miss them so much. It's not that we don't have stars here, they just tend to hide behind the thick clouds of middle Europe. I miss the tropics! There we always have a clear sky for a starry, starry night.
