After a teary post below, let's have something happy! Purr, purr, purrrr... :-)! When cats are purring, does that mean they're happy or they want food? (sorry no cat in possesion). "I is happy so I purrrz!" or "I is hungry so I purrz!", which one?
Andy Warhol?! -- I've never before seen anything so tender in his work (not that I'm an expert!) ... a lovely surprise.
As for why cats purr ... Usually, it's contentment, happiness; an expression of pleasure and affection. Mama cats often purr while their kittens are nursing -- and they'll purr for newborns (who are blind -- eyes not yet open) to direct them to their teats. Cats also purr when they are in pain, and sometimes when they are dying. It's thought that in this context, the purr might be a self-soothing/comforting mechanism ...

Andy Warhol still amazes me with his work. I could see him as a cat person!
I just love the whimsy Andy Warhol! My favorite are his shoe illustrations. This cat is pretty cute also!
